Thursday Prayer of Confession

🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Heavenly and Merciful Father,

We thank you for creating each and everyone of us in your own image,

whether black, white, yellow and red

each one of us resembles you.

You have blessed us with the perfect ‘different talents’ per person

which are complimented when we work together in your name

to carry on with your good work.

But sadly we have used these gifts to persecute and oppress others-

our untamed tongues have destroyed others and promoted hatred,

instead of bringing peace love and unity among your people.

Forgive us Merciful Lord,

For all of us have diverted from your path and will.

And we continue to pretend that we are perfect and without sin.

You brought light in our darkened life-

to set us free from the bondage of sin,

By sacrificing your only son Jesus Christ to pay the price for our evil deeds.

You always keep to the promise of the covenant you made with our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel

and will not move away from your promise like shifting shadows

nor withhold the talents you have

blessed us with.

Today Lord,

through our Confession;

Create in us a clean heart,

Oh Lord;

and renew a right spirit within us.

Cast us not away from your presence ;

and take not your Holy Spirit from us.

Restore unto us the joys of your salvation

and grant us with a willing Spirit, to sustain and do things according to your will.

Then we will spread the Good news with much vigour,

so that sinners will turn back to you!

Amen.
